Thoughts from Mrs. Foux's Class

After the April 23rd show we received a number of comments and questions from Mrs. Foux's second grade class. We're going to post and answer as many as possible right here on the blog. If you sent us a comment or question, click on the comments link below this post to see if yours is here. It might take a few days for me to answer them all, so keep checking back.

  1. Ananth asked:

Do the sea snakes have gills? Do lizards eat any biger bugs than a beetle?

  2. Ananth,

Sea snakes don't have gills and must come to the surface to breath. However, they can hold their breath for a long time.

Lizards usually eat just about any bugs that will fit in their mouths. The bigger the mouth, the bigger the bugs!

I loved your snake show! It was very cool. When did you start collecting snakes?! How many snakes are there in the world. My favorite was the corn snake. I like the turtle too. I like snakes too a lot.

  4. Aliya,

I started keeping snakes when I was very young--about five years old.
You can read about my very first snake in the very first post here on my blog:

There are around 3,000 species of snakes in the world!
